You moved to Sweden - now what about you?
Maybe you came for your partner’s job. Maybe for the family, or simply for the adventure. The boxes are unpacked, the new routines are slowly taking shape, and Sweden gives you something you may not have had in years: space. Nature, a slower pace, room to breathe.
And then, in a quiet moment, a question shows up that is surprisingly hard to say out loud:
Where do I fit into this story? And what is my next step?
Perhaps you recognise some of this:
Your friends and your routines stayed behind, and that feels freeing one day and disorienting the next.
You are genuinely glad to support your partner or family. And sometimes it is lonely to live in the background of someone else’s move.
You sense that this pause could be a rare chance to reinvent yourself. But you feel stuck, a little overwhelmed, or simply unsure where to begin.
You have met people, nice people. Yet Swedish life can be socially quiet, and you miss conversations that go deeper than the weather, housing and where to find decent bread.
Turning a relocation into a turning point
Moments like this as thresholds: uncomfortable, but also rare chances to hear our own voice more clearly. That is what he called individuation, becoming who you are when you give yourself permission to listen. This period doesn’t have to be a waiting room until “normal life” resumes. In a small, warm group, we slow down and listen together.
Your own direction: Discovering what you genuinely value, want and care about, apart from old expectations and current roles
With people who get it: Other international partners who know this experience from the inside. No need to explain or put on a brave face.
More than thinking: Stories, metaphors and dreams: accessible tools from depth psychology that reach what analysis alone can’t.
Something to look forward to: A cosy, welcoming morning every other week, with tea, fika and real conversation.
Your host
Hi, I’m Sanne. I’m 43, a psychologist trained in Jungian depth psychology and a leadership coach for over ten years. I’m also a partner, a mother, a dog lover and, like you, an expat.
When I was putting down roots in a new country myself, I noticed how easily I tried to figure everything out on my own. I also learned that transitions become lighter, richer and far more meaningful when we share them. So that is what I offer: psychological grounding, warm curiosity and a safe space where every part of your experience is welcome.

Into the Woods: Discover the Symbolic World of Dreams & Fairy Tales
Symbols speak to us in images, synchronicity, dreams and fairy tales. In this language a locked door, a wall of thorns or a hundred-year sleep is never just one thing. And when we open ourselves to this way of seeing the world around us, life can feel deeper, more meaningful and more magical.
To unlock this language we need to learn to see and listen differently, or perhaps to reclaim a way of seeing and hearing and imagining we never quite lost.
